Did you know that there are so many different opportunities and activities going on in the McGill Community, in Montréal, and in Canada as a whole that are aimed at a female audience? If you've been wondering where to get free period products, where to shop, and how to search for an internship that's right for you, look no further! Here are a few resources that I didn't know about until recently but that I think are super useful and amazing!
Did you know that you can get free period products in multiple municipal buildings in Montréal? Sometimes they're in the McGill bathrooms, but in case those run out, here are other locations close by:
Maison de la Culture du Plateau Mont-Royal, 465 Mont-Royal Ave E, Montreal, Quebec H2J 1W3
Marché Bonsecours, 350 Rue Saint-Paul E, Montréal, QC H2Y 1H2
Cité des Hospitaliers, 251 Ave Pins, Montreal, Quebec H2W 1R6

Did you know that there's an independent, female-run, womenswear store steps away from the McGill Campus? If you're looking for a place to go on your next shopping day, check out Editorial Boutique for chic, modern clothes and accessories for women by up and coming designers. They have great deals, super nice staff, and amazing clothes! I went there for the first time recently and loved what I bought, I highly recommend it for anyone interested in fashion and independent local businesses!
Address: 1465 Stanley St, Montreal, Quebec H3A 1P4 For more information, visit: https://editorialboutique.com/
Did you know that there are plenty of internship programs just for female students? Here are a few to add to your list if you're interested in gaining experience in your chosen field while building connections with other women in the profession!
The Women’s Centre of Montréal accepts internship applications on a rolling basis: https://centredesfemmesdemtl.org/en/womens-centre-of-montreal/about-us/internship-opportunities/
If you’re an international student, or an American at McGill, the National Organization for Women is currently accepting internship applications for summer! https://now.org/about/careers-and-internships/
For those more interested in STEM, the Institute for Women’s Health is also accepting internship applications for this summer: https://www.theiwh.org/work-with-us/
I hope these were helpful recommendations, and good luck to everyone studying for your finals! Someone else will be writing the newsletter next time with a completely different blog post, so stay tuned :)
