Outreach

The Shield of Athena is a non-profit organization for victims of family violence which offers emergency shelter and professional services which are culturally and linguistically adapted to meet the needs of women and their children.

Shield of Athena has been our longest partnership here at MWIL and we have supported through fundraising, translation services, and general advocacy. 

The South Asian Women’s Community Centre is committed to supporting South Asian women and their families facing struggle and discrimination on the basis of physical and mental ability, religion, colour, nationality, age, sexual orientation and identity,  and class. They offer services such as settlement programs for refugees and new immigrants, language classes, education on individual rights, support for survivors and victims of violence, and high school programs.

Sick Kids Foundation supports areas such as ground-breaking research, life- saving medical equipment, and patient-family programs. Charitable donations keeps SickKids nimble and able to respond to urgent needs, while advancing their mission to provide leading medical care to young patients across the country.

The Native Women's Shelter of Montreal (NWSM)  is a non-profit organization that provides a safe environment where Indigenous women can begin to rebuild their lives. The Shelter offers support and frontline services to First Nations, Inuit and Métis women by providing temporary shelter and accommodations for women and their children, and offer various workshops for their residents. 

At MWIL we support NWSM through fundraising and material donation drives. 

"Les Scientifines's mission is to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to young girls aged 8 to 17 from disadvantaged urban areas in order to enable them to develop various transversal skills, and thus counter dropping out. education and poverty among women." 

At MWIL we support this organization by collaborating with McGill professors and graduate students to hold lab tours and experiment demonstrations for to students at Les Scientifines

Centre Des Femmes is a non-profit organization created by women, for women. It assists women in the Montreal community through psychological, educational, legal, and job referral services and through food, clothing, and emergency assistance. 

At MWIL we support Centre Des Femmes with fundraising and food and clothing drives.

The Equal by 30 Campaign is part of the Clean Energy, Education and Empowerment Initiative (C3E), which works to advance the participation of women in the clean energy transition, and close the gender gap. 

MWIL is a signatory of the campaign.  

Meals For Milton-Parc (M4MP) is a community-based project supporting the individuals without houses in the Milton-Parc neighbourhood by providing nutritious meals, essential goods care packages, and basic health care provided by our nurses. 

At MWIL we support M4MP by providing meal donations and advocacy.
